Finding a job becomes so hard these days. You have to get through a lot of processes and most of the time, frustration occurs along the way. Losing a job is a dreadful situation one will never wish to experience. So it is best to keep the job or career that everyone has. However, sometimes, our present job doesn’t guarantee a security of tenure or a lifetime career. In fact, even senior executives don’t feel secured with their long and shining career in the company that they serve. It is not probably because they are not loyal to their company. Most probably, it is because there are a lot opportunities out there. Therefore, they tend to look for another job in the hope of a better career.
However, not many think to do this, but I always recommend that you watch out for the companies that have the fanciest, most lavish offices in the same buildings as companies worth 1,000x their net earnings.
Another thing to recruit to, besides the company’s success, is the success of employees within the company. Whether these employees are within the same occupation or not doesn’t matter. What is important is that the company has demonstrated the ability to help people grow and succeed; and, the logic is that it will do the same for this person.
Owning an restaurant management recruiters, the number one mistake I see that job seekers make is that they bounce from job to job chasing a marginally increased commission. What many fail to see is that if you don’t love what you do and don’t love the company you work for, you are not going to reach your full potential.
I have been to client meetings in offices that were a pigsty. When human beings enter a new environment or meet a new person, they make a decision as to whether they are impressed, neutral or turned off within 4 seconds.
So, why have I spent half of my life writing recruiting software and trying to make it better? Because I love my work and the creativity of it and I know I can give a really good recruiter an edge. I know the recruiting firm will be successful with or without me but I can make a difference. I truly enjoy working with successful people and the rewards and appreciation mean so much more to me.
Restaurants are still hiring. There are many great positions currently available. Just put forth a little effort and you may have a new job title soon.
